This is the coverage for the one in Seattle. Each location will be slightly different.
The theme for this season is “Escape to Beauty”. MC and DJ both dressed in casual vacation clothes. The whole show is divided into 3 scenes. We have a good crowd, and the show was a good one too, so there were tons of cheering and whistling. Here are some pictures for those of you who didn’t make it.

Guerlain brought the New Terracotta 4 Seasons Spray Bronzer and this happy girl was picked to try it. Look at how happy she is when she know she can bring that bottle home! The other 2 products Guerlain unveiled for us are the Le 2 de Guerlain Volumizing Mascara, which is 2 sided, wax free, and hence flake free, and perfect for both upper and lower lashes, and the Rouge G Lipstick. The lipstick has crushed ruby and mother of pearl in it and made with primer so it would be a long lasting wear!
Smashbox shared with the audience a few bottles of Halo Bronzer that isn’t avaliable in store until next month (April)!
YSL demonstrated the Volume Effet Faux Cils Noir Radical, which gives the illusion of 8 hours of sleep
Finally, CHANEL showed us the body art necklace, Trish McEvoy the “Must Have Collections — All About Eyes”, and Dior Creme de Rose lip balm.
Dior also showed us the “Capture Totale One Essential”, which helps to detoxify skin cells to powerfully correct all visible signs of aging and renew skin’s youthful appearance. Again, it gives your skin sleep and relaxation that it needed. If you stop by Nordstrom, don’t forget to try that Creme de Rose Lip Balm. It’s full of shea butter and other goodies and keep your lip soft and moisturize.

I don’t know about you, but I often spend hours going through hundreds of our members photos. Thinking about, maybe that’s how I will pose in my next photo. Or, maybe this is how I would wear my hair; but mostly, what is the best way to share all these photos. These photos, sometimes photoshopped, mostly not, are more amazing and pleasant to browse through than magazines. So I decided I will make a collage to show you just how diverse, colorful and gorgeous our Shimz are.

And with that, I would like to express my thanks to all of you. 200 of you. For sharing brilliant makeup tips and skincare tips with everyone. For sharing a piece of your world with us.

The first Super Shimz of the Monthfor 2010 readily admits that she’s always had the urge to “draw on her face”. Jessie, known on YouTube and her fans as Echoli, believes that makeup is a form of self-expression and art, helping a woman know who she truly is and giving her the self-confidence to announce that to the rest of the world. We did a virtual interview with Jessie so other Super Shimz could get to know her better.
Name: Jessie (Echoli)
Occupation: Full-time veterinary school student
What she’s wearing today: A yellow and grey sweater she found at Ross for $9.99. “It was such a great bargain!” she said. She is also wearing jeans, knee-high socks and boots.
What she eats for breakfast: Milk or coffee. She is not a fan of milk but she feels it jumpstart her day, keeps her focused, and holds off hunger. So she is trying to push herself to drink more.
Her grooming routine: She just lets her hair dry naturally and then brushes it.
What she has in her purse or on her bookshelf: Actually, Jessie doesn’t usually carry a handbag with her because, in her opinion, she has a lot of things. She does use a backpack and carries her (super kawaii) Toshiba tablet laptop with her for studying. She also has folders, pencils, a calculator, and lip balm in her backpack. Her bookshelf is also filled with school-related items, like binders, notebooks, paper, and biology books.
Where she shops online: Jessie occasionally shops on eyeslipsface.combecause their things are so inexpensive that if you don’t like them, you can toss them without feeling the pinch in your wallet. She also uses Ebay because you can find anything there cheap, especially Asian items.
Her splurge and her cheap thrill: A warm pair of boots or a nice coat that can be paired with anything are her big splurge because she lives in a cold city. For her cheap thrill, she likes to go to Dollar Tree when they have L’Oreal’s HIP line or Maybelline for a dollar.
Her favorite celebrity look: Lee Hyori’s eyes. “The kind of makeup she wears is always sexy.”

Kim Kardasian’s Makeup Tutorial Foundation and Blush (Part 1)
This is Kim’s makeup tutorial on how to do her makeup look so she can teach the gurus her signature cat eye look. There are four parts to this video at OmAIDamaaR’s video channel.
Keeping Up With Khloe Kardashian Beauty Routine, Recommends Nude Liquid Foundation by Christian Dior
This is Khloe Kardasian’s Beauty Routine and Makeup Look with her makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic. He creates a more subtle smokey eye look (can be grey, brown) for Khloe Kardashian to wear everyday but for her mostly at night. Khloe doesn’t wear much makeup and doesn’t wear foundation during the day. She just wears mascara, blush and does her eyebrows. She tries to do a simpler look without her makeup artist and Khloe at one point in the video turns to her makeup artist to ask, “What is that makeup that we use?” I am not sure how much of her makeup look is DIY.
In Miami’s humid weather, she had to test and try different foundations for the perfect cover, Christian Dior Liquid Foundation in Nude. In her makeup bag, she uses powder to absorb the oiliness of her natural skin.

Welcome to another “But Black Women Can’t…” post. The purpose of this series to dispel the many myths and stereotypes that have haunted Black women for centuries. Colors we can’t wear, products we shouldn’t touch…. it’s getting old. It’s time we start reclaiming our identities and defining our own beauty. Who’s with me?!! Email your suggestions to Brittany@ClumpsOfMascara.com.
I can’t believe I haven’t done this one yet! If there is one lipstick color that I think many Black women hide away from.…it is red. So many of us fear wearing it because we think it will make us look crazy. Chances are you probably saw someone who didn’t wear it well and it scared you off. Am I right or am I right?
Well un-scare thyself because red lipsticks are beautiful on brown skin.

Continuing with our natural and handmade artisan series, we sat down with Altitude’s Kelley, known for her pleasantly fragrant soaps. Whenever customers asked for something that is not in her line, Kelley would then go and research about it. One such product is the Au Natural line which was made because of requests for unscented products.

Rene, Founder and CEO of Heavenly Naturals
We have searched wide and far for new products, and this time, we sat down with Ms Wright, founder and CEO of Heavenly Naturals. Her products are sold through etsy.com and its online store (discount code at end of article).
C: Carrie R: Rene
C: What did you work on before starting Heavenly Naturals and what prompted you to start it?
R: I worked as a freelance makeup artist, and was also a personal assistant.
Working as a makeup artist, you are always working on different types of skin, each has its own needs. I wanted a product that was extremely versatile, that could be used many different ways with no worries about allergies. Minerals can be used as eyeshadow, blush, lip color, body paint even. The last thing you want to do is use something on someone only to find out they have a reaction to an ingredient. I myself had super sensitive skin that would freak out if I applied certain products and it was quite frustrating.
So I began to research natural mineral makeup and fell in love, The only problem I had was that most mineral makeup comes in the most boring array of grey, light brown, wierd blue and unflattering plums I had ever seen. I wanted bold, vibrant, fun colors for the younger makeup connoisseur and that is how it all began.
