MyShimmer is your concierge through the maze of thou­sands of new and emerg­ing beauty prod­ucts from all over the world.

Since early 2009, Editors of MyShimmer.com has actively reached out to the beauty com­pa­nies all over the world to get cov­er­age of new and upcom­ing prod­ucts that are often not even on the shelves yet. With our love for trav­el­ing, we con­stantly search for beauty prod­ucts and beauty secrets across the globe that might just change your beauty world inside out.

Because of the nature of new and unre­leased prod­ucts, all of the prod­ucts that our review­ers (Super Shimz) review, unless oth­er­wise noted, are pro­vided by the com­pa­nies them­selves. Be assured though, that our review­ers and test users that try out the prod­ucts are val­ued for their hon­esty and integrity.  They do not recieve com­pen­sa­tion besides the prod­ucts them­selves.  Unlike other spon­sored reviews, you can trust ours to be on your camp. We are con­sumers too and we do this because we love it.

About the Shimmer Network

Although there are many social net­work­ing sites out there, there aren’t that many that focus on dis­cov­er­ing beauty. We all have our Facebook accounts or blogs, but those accounts are filled with friends from work, from school, peo­ple we don’t know, and peo­ple who don’t really care what they put on their faces. Shimmer Network is cre­ated to answer this. Our goal is to unite women and men who are cos­metic con­scious so they can help each other reap the best ben­e­fits of the beauty world. In the Shimmer Network, you can get the lat­est scoop of what’s some of the youtube gurus are up to, con­nect and stay in touch with your fans, and learn from and be inspired by other beauty bloggers.

Carrie Bradley

Carrie grew up with a cell phone in her crib and try­ing every beauty prod­uct in the house and at the depart­ment store.  She is an avid inter­net shop­per and online researcher of facts and can dig up any infor­ma­tion a par­tic­u­lar prod­uct or claim by a beauty com­pany.   She has been blog­ging since the age of 14 and is your resource for find­ing the lat­est in health and beauty.

Christina Ku


Christina grad­u­ated from UC Berkeley and started her major with a nutri­tion focus but ulti­mately made a liv­ing in Investments and Finance. With this money, she has been a nat­ural beauty prod­uct tester since the age of 12 using prod­ucts from health food stores in Mill Valley, California to every prod­uct found in a beauty depart­ment store. She has trav­eled to over 44 coun­tries shop­ping and search­ing for beauty secrets from around the world. It’s a tough job but some­one has to do it.

Emily Tse, Editor In Chief

Emily is MyShimmer’s Editor in Chief.   Emily grew up in Hong Kong using Japanese skin prod­ucts (even though she can’t read any of the Japanese text on the bot­tle), she eats mostly fresh and nat­ural foods and knows every online store to pur­chase every beauty prod­uct sold.  From an early age, Emily was inter­ested in beauty/fashion, inter­net and tech­nol­ogy.    It is an unlikely combo but Emily pulls it off.   She can cre­ate an online com­mu­nity for women to share their love for beauty and show each other what new looks inspire them.   At the same time, she meets beauty indus­try experts and video blog­gers to bring you the lat­est in beauty prod­ucts and tips before it hits the mag­a­zines.  She finds the lat­est for you — whether it’s the prod­ucts that celebri­ties use, prod­ucts that really work, DIY home beauty for cheap, inter­view from an expert makeup artist or makeup tuto­ri­als from other beau­ti­ful women.  She cur­rently lives in Seattle, WA.

We believe beauty is holis­tic so we have a Beauty Advisory Board that reviews new beauty prod­ucts, insider tips and trav­els all over the world to find the best in beauty.  We have included peo­ple from the sci­en­tific com­mu­nity, makeup artists and life coaches to help you achieve that inner beauty for a truly beau­ti­ful you!

Chengxi Tang

Chengxi joined the Product & Portfolio Strategy prac­tice at IMS Health with a BA in Neuroscience and Economics. Her recent projects include devel­op­ing a global health­care strat­egy for a lead­ing con­sumer pack­aged goods com­pany, assess­ing merger and acqui­si­tion tar­gets, ana­lyz­ing the FDA reg­u­la­tory process of mul­ti­ple ana­logues for top phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal com­pa­nies, and strate­giz­ing prod­uct life­cy­cle man­age­ment and emerg­ing mar­ket entries. She has expe­ri­ence in com­pany pro­fil­ing, clin­i­cal stud­ies, finan­cial analy­sis and com­pet­i­tive and tech­ni­cal assessments.

Becky Watkins
Becky has been dis­cov­er­ing beauty from all aspects.   She has worked with many bud­ding young celebri­ties on TV and film as a makeup artist.  As an Educator and Trainer for Christian Dior, her job is to travel the world teach­ing makeup artists and Sephora employ­ees how to use the lat­est tech­nol­ogy in makeup and skin­care.  She shares with us her insider secrets to the beauty industry.
Lily Lam, CPCC

Lily is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach and founder of YourYouness, Inc. Lily sup­ports her clients on how to con­nect with their holis­tic and inte­gra­tive needs, mak­ing choices and deci­sions to live a bet­ter whole life living—mind, body, and spirit.  Her spe­cial­ties include, life and career coach­ing, com­mu­ni­ca­tion and net­work­ing skills, work-life bal­ance, over­com­ing life burnout and trans­for­ma­tion, and Feng Shui coach­ing. She is pas­sion­ate about peo­ple, a pos­i­tive thinker, speaker and moti­va­tor, inspir­ing her clients with her life philosophy.
