Kim Kardashian’s Debut Fragrance

Carrie

Happy February! A few exciting events are happening in this February, and today is the launch of Kim Kardashian’s fragrance with her same name. Kim Kardashian, the fragrance, is available exclusively at Sephora starting today!

I was lucky enough to have a sample. We have asked Julie to do a review too! Before I tell you what I think of it, let me give you more details about the fragrance.

The scent of stardom

The fragrance is described as “The scent of stardom”. It is a fragrance as voluptuous, sensual and beautiful as Kim herself. Kim Kardashian reflects the sensuality, femininity and appeal of Kim herself. Margarita Arriagada, Sephora’s SVP of Merchandising, described the fragrance as “a gorgeous fusion of classicism, modernity and sensuality.” Developed by Givaudan, and created by master perfumer Claude Dir, the sumptuous, floral fragrance evokes Kim’s trademark sultry style with crisp top notes, lush, floral mid tones, and a rich, sexy dry-down. Gorgeous, voluptuous floral reflect her captivating nature, while Jasmine, tuberose and gardenia evoke her femininity. Tonka bean, jacaranda wood and sandalwood add a warm, sensual base, representing Kim’s softer side.

My sample bottle was, well, in a sample bottle; but you would be pleased to know your bottle is designed by Scott Oshry and Sean Brosmith of Masea.

How much?

Right now, it ranges from $16 — $65, available exclusively through Sephora.

Notes:

Mandarin, Honey Suckle, Orange Blossom, Pink Jasmine, Tuberose, Sensual Spice, Lush Gardenia, Jacaranda Wood, Tonka Bean, Vanilla Orchid, Sexy Musk, Creamy Sandalwood.

My take on it (with my non-profesionally-trained-nose)

I personally own Dior’s J’dore, Anna Sui’s Sui Love, Harajuku’ Love, (wow, I just realize they are ALL LOVE!), and when I first got my Kim Kardashian sample, it does remind me of these scents, and hence I am comparing them.

Compared with Sui Love, Kim Kardashian perfume is less floral and flirty. You can definitely tell the presence of the warm undertone too. Compared with H. Love, Kim Kardashian fragrance is more sensual. Kim Kardashian fragrance is pretty similar to J’dore as a wholesome scent. J’dore is more subtle, modest and less floral. All in all, Kim Kardashian perfume is definitely the sultry, sexy fragrance described by its producers.
