Budding Beauty Picks for Springtime 2010!

Dr. Ilaya – It’s been barely a month of winter and already gracing beauty counters all over are 2010 spring collections.  Though we’re still acclimatizing to the chill, we can be optimistic and start using the gorgeous colors and new skincare formulations to perk up our wintry complexions.  Here are my picks for the spring and how you can look like a spring chicken in the midst of winter.

Informed Makeup Maven's pick for spring cosmetics

Replace heavy creams and lotions with a multitasking serum such as Payot Les Correctrices Serum which helps smooth the skin and deliver hydration.  Skip your usual creamy foundation and replace with a high tech tinted moisturizer like Perricone MD’s No Foundation Foundation with SPF 30 to even out tone, smooth skin and protect against UV damage.  Repair skin overnight with Mario Badescu’s Seaweed Cream which rehydrates winter-worn skin while providing a nourishing and protective barrier while you sleep.  In the morning, add a little warmth and luminosity to your look with Chanel’s Empreinte de Chanel highlighting powder and fake a flush with Rock and Republic’s Contrived Blush.  Highlight points on your face with Shu Uemura’s Satin Glow Stick Blush.  Make those peepers sparkle and shine with Napoleon Perdis’s Prismatic Eye Shadow Quad in water and frame with Imju Fibrewig Mascara which will see you through spring rain and sunshine.  Last but not least mimic that delicate bloom with Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Lip Tastic Lip Palette for sweet and juicy lips.  Don’t forget to smile!
