How to Get Rid of Tired Looking Face: Allure’s Editor Picks Astara Daily Refining Scrub

Last Friday, I had a fantastic night out at Pacifica doing bowling, and I didn’t get home till late. With all that excitement, I did not have a restful sleep, and woke up at 7am in the morning. What can make your skin look old and dull faster than late night and lack of sleep? And with all this extra time in the morning, I decided to try products from Astara Skincare.

Astara Refining Face Scrub

Astara Refining Face Scrub

I first cleansed my face with Astara’s Daily Refining Scrub.  The Daily Refining Scrub is Allure’s Editor’s Pick and 2 oz size for $18.  This scrub exfoliates with natural ingredients, oxygenates the skin and was gentle on my face.   The scrub has very fine exfoliants and I love its slightly citrus smell :)    Then, I sprayed the Blue Flame Purifying Toning Mist (which is perfect for my combination skin).  The toning mist has the scent of lavender and immediately reminded me of the Jurlique Lotion (you know, different products have different scent of Lavender for some reasons).

The Nourishing Vitamin Mask

Since I was tired from last night, I decided nourishing is what I needed!   So I applied the Nourishing Vitamin Mask, which came in a delightful glass jar.  It claims to revitalize tired, dry and dull skin.  It had the consistency of yogurt, and a lovely, sweet scent of apples. Yum!  It spread easily on my face. As a yogurt mask, it didn’t dry like a clay mask so I could not tell when it was time to wash it off.  The instructions said 5 — 20 minutes, which to me seems to mean “as soon as you get bored”.  I mean, that’s a pretty wide range of time, isn’t it? I waited for around 18 min and took it off, for I was eager to see the results.

Immediately after washing it off, I could feel the difference.   The mask helped me get rid of my tired looking face.  My skin feels hydrated, as if there’s a film of water around it (no exaggeration).  The scrub earlier also have left my skin smoother, and I cannot help poking  my own face :) It feels so bouncy and elastic and firm, like a baby’s face. I am happy with the result, and when I was getting ready later on in the day, I could see my skin glow and I don’t even have to put on foundation at all! (Extra points for that, eh?)  My skin was brighter and it looked like I had a great night’s sleep, and on top of them it has the eveness from foundation.  Isn’t that amazing? But wait, there’s more. When I met up with Mr. H and his friends, the first thing he said was, “Wow, you look different today. What did you do?”

“Secret.”
