Halloween and Fall Makeup Looks — How to Do the Sexy Modern Cat Eye

Fall is here and with Halloween around the cor­ner, we want to show­case the Best Fall Makeup Looks for your Best Halloween Costumes and parties. 

We’d like to high­light smash­box’s take on the mod­ern, sexy cat eye look — the cat eye paired with a deep, red lip. It is a great SEXY AND FUN grownup Halloween look. Smashbox makeup artist showed us how to get it, which is often also the look of Katy Perry or Gwen Stefani.

The smash­box makeup artist starts with:

smash­box Photo Finish Foundation Primer

1. Photo Finish Foundation Primer Light ($36, Amazon):  This primer has pep­tides and light diffuser.
2. Camera Ready Full Coverage Foundation ($38, Sephora):  Cream to pow­der oil free foun­da­tion with SPF 15.  Start with the cen­ter of the face and put a lit­tle on one side of the brush and blend­ing it in so you can spread out the product.
3. Camera Ready Full Coverage Concealer ($18, Sephora):  Put this where you need it on under eye, chin, nose for red­ness.  You can apply it above the lip as well for fuller lips.
4. smashbox Eye Shadow in Vanilla ($18, Sephora):  Use a neu­tral shade to brighten the eye area.  Start with an all over eye shadow brush start­ing at the lash line with a lighter color.
   INSIDER SECRET: You can’t use one prod­uct for a cat eye look.  You have to lay on crème eye­liner to trace and then go back over with another eye­liner to inten­sify and define.
5. smashbox Cream Eye Liner in Caviar ($22, Sephora and Amazon): Start in the cen­ter of the eye in short strokes toward the end of the eye.  She is grad­u­ally build­ing color and it is very for­giv­ing. The angle brush is the best brush to use and turn the brush over to cre­ate a tail.
