It’s Week 3 for my Latisse review! Here are my pictures from three weeks of using the Latisse product consistently everyday. My lashes appear to be:
- Darker
- Thicker
- Slightly longer but no mega growth
My lashes are about the same length from Week 3 to Week 1. The results of my Latisse “clinical trial” over three weeks is good but the results were more impressive with Revitalash (I used Revitalash several years ago before it was taken off the market and now there is a reformulation — I will review Revitalash in the future too, so watch out for it!). But these are the side effects of Latisse that I have been experiencing:
- Slight blurring in vision — nothing very serious, but noticable
- Darkening of eyelid (which should go away after stopping using Latisse)
- Darkening of eye iris — I didn’t notice it until my friend told me
Week 1

Typical short, light Asian eyelashes that are stubbornly straight — my eyelashes are the ultimate enemy to my mascara!
Photos of my eyelashes in Week 2 and Week 3 after the jump…
Week 2

My eyelashes seem to have growth slightly longer and darker, and there’s obvious darkening of my eyelids. And they itched — a lot
Week 3

I have been reviewing Latisse and religiously using it every single night, but by the end of the 3rd week, the growth seems to have stopped. My eyelashes feel significantly thicker and are slightly longer than before starting on Latisse, but they aren’t that much longer. Itching has decreased, and so has the redness on the eyelids.
My “clinical trial” with Latisse will continue through next week, and for next week’s Latisse review I will share with you my final takeaways. For now, Latisse every night it is!

Hi Christina! Great to see you trialing Latisse — we have just started our own trials at our clinic, so interesting to hear your results. FYI: Latisse takes about 4–8 weeks to work with maximum results at 16 weeks. Also, the iris darkening has only so far been seen when the product is used in higher doses directly in the eye for glaucoma, so if you have photo proof of the darkening, you should take these to the doctor who prescribed it for you so they can report it to Allergan! Looking forward to hearing how you go at 8, 12 and 16 weeks!
Have a great day!
The old Revitalash formulation contained bimatoprost in it, at a lower concentration than medically prescribed Lumigan/Latisse. Of course, when Allergan became aware of it, they insisted that Revitalash be reformulated. The makers of Revitalash had no choice but to remove their “secret” ingredient, hence, the reformulated version can’t come close to the results seen with Latisse.
I find it interesting that given the above, you say that you’re results with Revitalash (the older, less potent version than Latisse, which contained the watered down bimatoprost) were better than that of Latisse, since the active ingredient is significantly less in the old formulation of Revitalash. The new formulation of Revitalash shouldn’t even be considered as a comparable product, since it would be an apples-to-oranges comparison.
I’ve used all three, and my experience is that Revitalash didn’t do a darned thing, but Latisse produced longer, thicker, darker lashes in just a few weeks time — and they just keep on growing.
