Fall and winter are creeping up, and one thing that everybody hates about the dry weather is chapped lips. Our lips are some of the most sensitive parts of our skin that react the most dramatically to weather changes, so ladies, time to stock up on good lip balm and lip gloss that could protect your lips from dehydration and UV rays while giving you the perfect pout!
1. Plump your lips with the Renew Lip Plumper
Talking about amazing lips, you just have to mention our Angelina Jolie, who never fails to show up on the red carpet with her signature sexy lips. Jolie’s famous full, pink lips spare her from excessively bright lipstick colors, and for us lowly mortals (*laugh*) who might not be gifted with the same sexy lips, there’s still a way out!
Applied as easily as your favorite lip gloss, the Renew Lip Plumper invigorates lips with a burst of tingling peppermint-like sensations. Within seconds, lips plump up with irresistible volume. Not only does Renew Lip Plumper leave lips with a silky shine it also restores lips with necessary moisture for a healthier pout — forget about lip injections or plastic surgery, you can too get Angelina Jolie’s sexy full lips with the Renew Lip Plumper!
The only catch that bothers me a little bit is the itchy tangling feeling on your lips that lingers on for 20–25 minutes even after application — I know it’s a sign of the lip plumper doing its job, but it takes a little bit of getting used to. My favorite part — it works SO quickly. My lips literally swelled up in 30 seconds after application, and in a minute of so you can observe the difference in my lip colors. So this makes reapplication easy and smooth — take a short powder room break and in 2 minutes, you are back with glossy red lips.
2. Fresh Sugar Lip Gloss for Shimmery, Natural Glossy Lips
Our South African beauty Charlize Theron never cease to show up at an event without
looking sexy and full-lipped, and the Fresh Sugar Lip Gloss is one of the best lip gloss out there to reproduce her glossy yet classy, lustrous lips.
The Fresh Sugar Lip Gloss is non-sticky lip gloss that is fortified with skin-smoothing and moisturizing ingredients like sugar (yep, sweet, sweet lips, literally), beeswax, Shea butter, jojoba oil, grape seed oil, and black currant seed oil. It is also packed with Vitamin E and citrus extracts that keep your lips healthy and smooth. The Fresh Sugar Lip Gloss has a

fun, fruity smell that makes it a little flirtatious. Our favorite colors are Sugar Kiss (a girly light pink) and Sugar Pin-up (a shimmery coral).
What we like the most about the Fresh Sugar Lip Gloss is how it basically suits any skin tone — the shimmery pigments in the Fresh Sugar Lip Gloss highlights the light, soft colors of the gloss without making your lips look too dramatic or unnatural. Any catch? The Fresh Sugar Lip Gloss is a tiny bit pricey ($18), but the moisturizing effects and the colors are simply unmatched. Hint: Sephora gives out travel-size samples occasionally — so go hit the closest store to try your luck!
3. Chic, organic, and easy to apply with EOS organic lip balm
Jessica Alba is known for her chic fashion choices and healthy lifestyles (look how she bounced right back to her best body right after having little Honor!), and this lip balm fits her style perfectly. The EOS Smooth Sphere lip balm is a USDA certified organic lip balm, and you simply have to applaud and admire their creativity — just as you and I complain about how gross and unhygienic it is to use our fingers to apply lip balm, the EOS Smooth Sphere lip balm has thought about it all for you.
The EOS Smooth Sphere lip balm is in a small Easter egg shell that is easy for you to hold onto and small enough to put into your pocket, and the hemisphere-shaped lip balm glides right onto your lip, so say ciao to dirty fingers. I love the smooth and easy application that solves the problem of having to make sure your fingers are clean whenever you need to apply any lip balm. The formula is non-sticky and very moisturizing, and my favorite flavor out of the three is Honeysuckle Honeydew — fresh, fruity, and organic!
4. Stay safely sun-kissed with Hissyfit Lip Service SPF 50+
Do you know your lips need protection from UV rays too? As the weather gets colder, slowly the only part of your body that is exposured to sunlight will be your face, and while we always remember to apply foundation with SPF or sunscreen before we head out, how many of us actually remember about protecting our lips?
When you want to talk about sun protection,
the Aussies know it best. Miranda Kerr, Australia’s prized supermodel, has beautiful sun-kissed yet perfectly smooth skin, and it is not hard to guess that she probably takes very good care of her pout lips too. We reviewed the Hissyfit Saving Face SPF 50+ earlier, and we are delighted to review the lip balm of the same line — the Hissyfit Lip Service 50+. The Hissyfit Lip Service is a clear lip balm that deeply hydrates and help to diminish the fine lines on your lips while offering broad spectrum SPF 50+ sun protection. I love the SPF 50+ protection — this is probably the only lip balm out there that offers such sun protection. Simply apply 15–20 minutes before you step out into the sun and reapply at regular intervals for anti-aging and sun protection purposes, then you, too, can have healthy sun-kissed lips like Miranda Kerr.
The Eco Lips Sport Lip Balmis perfect for sporty girls like Hayden Panetierre, who is known for going to great lengths out to the ocean to protect whales. The Eco Lips Sport Lip Balm is organic and packed with natural nutritious ingredients for complete protection for your lips, especially for outdoors, when you are under exposure to the elements and your lips get chapped fast.
The Eco Lips also have lip balm that are vegan (Eco Lips Bee Free that is made of plant wax instead of beeswax), and lip balms that come with clips and sleeves that will come in handy when you go on a hike or go camping. It is the best choice for the environmental-friendly and green-conscious you, considering the limited choices out there that caters to our “green needs”. A side note worth mentioning: Eco Lips initiated the largest solar power project in Iowa in 2006, and is currently working on more similar projects in multiple locations. So if you want to go green, you should start with protecting your lips!
