Russian and Middle Eastern beauty secrets are to use Henna purchased in the grocery store on their hair.  The cost is relatively inexpensive at under $5 for a package, make a mix of henna and water, apply to clean hair and then leave on overnight.  It is a bit of a process and takes effort but it is an inexpensive home remedy using natural ingredients and may help extend your color in between the hairdresser or add extra shine to that mysterious brunette.

Use a bit of henna as a conditioner, wrap a towel around their hair and let it soak for overnight minutes.  Then it is rinsed out and they have lovely, dark, thick hair.  For step by step instructions…

Here are the step by step process of using henna as an overnight conditioner:

1. Buy henna in a local store.  It comes in a small package of powder.  Red henna darkens brunettes but black henna will give you Goth midnight black hair.

2. Mix 1/4 to 1/2 cup of mix to same amount of water until it is a thick mud pack like consistency.

3. This part is complicated, not as much as Denise Richards but still may be a bit dirty.  Put the henna in your hair like a deep mask conditioner and wrap an old towel around your hair.    The henna will stain the towel.

4. Use this for hours or overnight.  Put another towel between your hair and your sheets in case the henna stains your sheets.

“I am Russian and have been using this in my family for generations.  I have applied this to my hair since I was 14 about once a month, except when I was blonde and always get complements on my hair afterwards for a month.  My mom uses it to cover grey.”
