MoroccanOil Treatment Review

We caught up with MoroccanOil lead hairstylist, Antonio Corral at CosmoProf 2009 last week.  The MoroccanOil booth at the CosmoProf exhibits were definitely one of the most popular amongst conference attendees.

Antonio is based in Montreal, Canada but well traveled and originally from Barcelona, Spain.   He is the dark and handsome European man you always dream of meeting on your flight to Spain but somehow never do.   I was so lucky to meet him and have him show me the benefits and highlights of the product in my hair.

I walked in with dry, brittle, slightly damaged hair from swimming everyday, highlights and my trusted flat ironing activites.    These daily activities strip my natural oil from my hair.

The main product from MoroccanOil is a hydrating, moisturizing but ultralite oil suitable for all hair types.  Antonio applied a quarter sized amount of the oil (it smells heavenly!) to my dry hair.  Antonio’s tip for great hair is to start with clean, washed hair so this can be applied to wet hair.  The product doesn’t weigh your hair down and reduces the time for blow drying.  Moroccan Oil reverses all the damage from hair dryers, curing irons and the stress of the environment with natural Argan oil imported from Morocco.   Argan oil has Vitamin E, antioxidants and essential fatty acids which MoroccanOil created a formulation of this natural oil to absorb into the roots of your hair.  He styled my hair into large wavy curls and all the frizz was eliminated.  My super thick hair was soft, shiny and sultry.

How to Curl Your Hair with a Round Brush, Hair Dryer, and Moroccan Oil

moroccan_oilAntonio also shared his secret of including MoroccanOil into his color mix.   It helps to extend the color and highlights applied or already in your hair.  Check out the before and after pictures if you are skeptical, this is truly a great innovative, international product.  For other side you can mix the hydrating styling cream with MoroccanOil treatment before the blow dry and will give even more results with dry hair.  It is worth saving your money and forgoing Johnson and Johnson drugstore hair products that don’t work for this one.

Pros:

  • Use very little every application
  • Non greasy, ultralite formulation
  • Helps hair combat damage from heat, color, other hair products
  • Reduces blow drying and styling time
  • Works on all hair types
  • Truly hydrates hair without weighing it down

Cons

  • It is a bit expensive at $39 for 3.4 oz for Original MoroccanOil
  • The bottle is heavy in a large size, no trial or travel size available
