Face Roller: Reduce the appearance of wrinkles, stretch marks, acne and scars!

I was in Daiso, a Japanese retailer of cool products and there was a small beauty section.  The beauty section had an assortment of hard to find face rollers.  The Japanese are renowned throughout the world for products that are high quality, have great design and attention to price.

It has been an Asian urban myth of massaging your face or using a face roller for younger, firmer skin without wrinkles.  My friend’s mother swears by her daily massage using her fingers with lotion.   Her mother looks like her sister rather than her mother with her youthful face.

So I purchased this face roller at my Japanese “Target” store, Daiso for $1.50.  The Daiso online store sells 12 pieces for $22.

What is the science or reason behind stimulating your face to reduce wrinkles and help with acne/scars?

Micro needling is a procedure at a professional dermatologist’s office where a device is rolled over your face and body.   The Microneedling Roller is a easy to use device with many sterilized tiny needles which, {when rolled over the epidermis or top layer of skin}, delicately separate the pores of the epidermis and induce the healing process increasing the production of collagen and elastin.  In essence, the stimulation of the skin causes your skin to “naturally heal” itself.

Aging skin heals and rejuvenates itself more slowly than the 2–4 week cycle of younger skin.  Skin with scars and other skin conditions also heal faster with this extra collagen resulting from stimulation from any of these devices that roll over your skin and irritate the top layer.

For acne scars, Stretch marks and face wrinkles to be removed, it is essential for the skin to have reason to restart healing itself producing more collagen and elastin, micro needling achieves this by gently opening the pores of the epidermis giving the impression of a trauma on the skin and in need of repair.  Micro needling or using rollers may help with the following: Stretch marks, Cellulite, Wrinkles, pitted skin, acne scars, surgery scars, scars, crow’s feet.

The effects do not appear to have clinical trials or scientific evidence but rather a plausible theory.    Studies have shown that men age less and have smoother skin in their beard area which is physically exfoliated regularly.  This physical exfoliation (or stimulation) may help the skin regenerate naturally to keep the skin looking more youthful.

Dermaroller also has a faceroller or micro needing product for 99 Euros.

Testimonitals for Dermaroller:

Hi, I had a dermaroller a few years ago. I found it too irritating and painful, did not work for me.
